My work is informed by feminism and Jung’s theories of alchemy and transformation. I create poetic visual narratives that evoke the non-linear qualities of memory and dreams to bring what lies on the fringes of personal and collective consciousness to the center.
Ginny Sykes (b.1957, Washington DC) is an interdisciplinary artist working in Chicago, Illinois and Naples, Italy. Sykes exhibits widely and collaborates on projects nationally and internationally. She has received several DCASE grants, prestigious artist residencies in the US and abroad, a Mary Stewart Fellowship award, and in 2022, Naples artperformingfestival’s First Prize for video art. Her work is in many private and public art collections.
