My paintings often pass through stages of instability and uncertainty before arriving at moment of calm and stasis. They are both optically and physically immersive and are meant to draw attention to the process of seeing. 

Jackie Kazarian (b.1959, Libertyville, IL) is a Chicago-based abstract painter. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and holds a BS in Zoology from Duke University. Kazarian has exhibited her work in galleries and museums worldwide and her work is in many private and public collections. She has served an art envoy for the U.S. State Department in Kuwait and Syria and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Armenian Behavioral Science Association (2019).
