I experience lush, textural colors and shapes in the world as movement through my body. My paintings are created when physical gestures express themselves in pigment, conjuring space and making my eyes dance and heart open to joy. 

Nancy Natow-Cassidy (b.1956, Detroit, Michigan) is a Chicago and Indiana Dunes based artist. She learned to draw at an early age, and went on to get a degree in painting from the University of Michigan, while also studying African and modern dance. Her influences ranged from Tina Turner and Ann-Margaret to Monet, Fosse, Dali, sixties fashion and Marimekko. She’s worked in graphic design, prop styling and co-owned a photography studio. Her work is in private and corporate collections across the country.
